Bio:

Roger & Patti have been married for 43 years and have two adult children. As a Maine Guide, Roger enjoys the outdoors, fishing and hunting. Patti enjoys antiquing and quilting.

Alan & Mary have been married for 20 years and have two teenage children. In addition to enjoying their children’s sports activities, Alan enjoys being in the garage and Mary likes organizing and decorating their home for all the Maine seasons. 

Roger, Patti, Alan and Mary are all imperfect people in imperfect marriages looking to have fun and learn with others.

Group Notes:

Laugh Your Way to a Better Marriage, Mark Gungor. We will be using the “Laugh Your Way to a Better Marriage” curriculum with videos and a participant guide. Guides are available at the class for $15 (one per couple).

We are looking forward to laughing and learning together, regardless of whether you have been married 1 week or 70 years!

Hi everyone, I am Amber Farrar and I will be leading a marriage small group this semester with my husband, Carl. We live in Carmel with our four wonder and crazy kids and our one sweet cat. As a family we enjoy spending time outside, camping, and watching movies. I have been attending The Rock Church since 2012, and Carl has been attending since 2008. We are excited to meet new people and gain more Christ centered friendships.

Bio:

We have been married and best friends for 33 years, have four adult children (all of whom thankfully love the Lord), and 6 wonderful grandchildren. Ellen serves at The Rock by volunteering in the church office and Dan serves playing bass guitar on the worship team. We own Knapp's Music Center; the oldest retail store in downtown Bangor.

We both are sports enthusiasts and big time Dallas Cowboys fans; then the Pats. Ellen also enjoys watching tennis and Dan loves the Boston Celtics.

We have found that worship and the Word of God are what keeps us hot in our pursuit of God and each other.

Based on Galatians 5:22,23. This group is for married couples and will focus on filtering the issues and situations of our lives through the fruit of the Spirit and learning from each other through practical discussion.

Barbara and I have been married for 20 years. With 8 children and 8 grandchildren you can just imagine the experiences we've had. We became licensed as foster care parents 8 years ago. This really opened our eyes to a huge need for helping families to grow in their walk with God as they raise their littles. We also had a teen group at our house for a few years and heard from the kids both christian and non the desperate need for healthy relationships at home. Barbara and I believe this starts with husband, wife and God. Come rekindle your marriage with us.

Eliza and Wade live and work in Bangor and have 4 children (ages 13 weeks to 9 years old). They have been married for 10 years and have been attending The Rock Church since 2014. They enjoy spending time together with friends and family. They also enjoy working together in their small business and serving at The Rock Church.

Adam and Melissa live in Brewer and have 3 kids (ages 3 to 10 years old). They have been married for 11 years and have been attending The Rock Church since 2008. As a family they enjoy playing outside together and exploring the outdoors. Adam and Melissa are very active with serving at The Rock Church.

Group Notes:

We will be following a 5 week DVD study by Craig & Amy Groeschel, From this Day forward: Five Commitments to Fail-Proof Your Marriage. 

The evening will begin with the DVD study and discussion. For those wanting to stick around we will also have time of fellowship. We expect the group to run from about 3:00PM - 5:00PM with time for fellowship from 5:00PM-6:00PM for those wishing to stay.

We will be providing childcare and there will be a charge per family. Cost of childcare will be determined based on the number of kids. We will do our best to keep the cost for childcare as low as possible. Childcare will run from 3:00PM-5:00PM during the discussion and video portion of group.

The Daniel Dilemma by Chris Hodges. This semester our marriage group will be focusing on walking a faithful journey alongside our spouse. As we learn in Chris Hodges' The Daniel Dilemma how to Stand Firm and Love Well in a Culture of Compromise we will do so alongside the person we have committed to and apply those principles to our married life. Join us each Thursday from 6-8 p.m. for food and fellowship as we go on this journey with Jesus together.
