What is that thing that is on your mind lately? That thing that you are constantly
bringing before God and asking Him for guidance in? For victory in? For patience in?
So many times I let things press in on my mind and weigh me down - weigh down
my attitude, my joy, my praise. Psalm 56:4 says, “I praise God for what he has
promised.” Do you notice what that says? I praise him for what he has promised, not
what he has done. David here is making a conscious choice to praise God before he
sees the physical answer. That is faith - calling things that are not as though they are
(Hebrews 11:1). Psalms 91:4 says, “His faithful promises are his armor and
protection.” Numbers 23:19, “God is not a man, so he does not lie. He is not human,
so he does not change his mind. Has he ever spoken and failed to act? Has he ever
promised and not carried it through?” I want to encourage you this morning to praise
now - before you see the result. Choose to praise in faith right in the middle of your
need. Make this your prayer, “God is faithful. Let all that I am praise His name today!"
