How To Be Free From Worry And Anxiety

I don’t know about you, but I come from a long line of worriers.

“Be careful walking on that ice, go slow driving tonight, make sure you have clean underwear on in case you get into an accident”.

Although I believe in being cautious, Scripture assures us that we need to live worry free.

The question is, “How is this even possible?”

Here are three biblical thoughts to help us live free from worry and anxiety.

1.Do Something - Seek God Today

Matthew 6:28-34 (NIV)

28 “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? 31 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

2.Say Something - Pray To God Today

Philippians 4:6-7 (NIV)

6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. 7 And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

3.Believe Something - Trust God Today

1 Peter 5:7-9 (NIV)

7 Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

8 Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. 9 Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings

As we put these 3 things into practice, you will discover your anxiety level going down and your peace level going up.

Grace and Peace,

Kirk
